August 2016 #PickToClick Standings

Menu Info

What is this?

Pick To Click is a game popularized on White Sox broadcasts by Hawk Harrelson in which you predict the player with the best performance in the upcoming game. Now when Hawk says, "Before we show you our picks to click, you at home select yours," you really can, while competing against the rest of the White Sox community on Twitter.

How do I play?

Simply tweet the name of the player you pick with the #PickToClick hashtag. Example: #PickToClick Jose Abreu

Some guidelines:

  1. Try your best to spell the player's name correctly.
  2. Do not use obscure nicknames. Common nicknames will normally be recognized.
  3. Make sure your submission is made before *scheduled* start time. Delays do not gain extra time.

Are there any rules?

The only rules are that only position players are included and you must have your pick made before the *scheduled* start time.

How does scoring work?

Scoring is Win Probability Added (WPA) * 10 (for friendlier scoring). From Fan Graphs: "WPA captures the change in Win Expectancy from one plate appearance to the next and credits or debits the player based on how much their action increased their team’s odds of winning." Read more about it here.
